Product Overview
304 Stainless Steel Elbows are essential pipe fitting components designed for changing pipeline direction in fluid and gas transmission systems. Manufactured from premium 304 stainless steel (UNS S30400 / EN 1.4301), these elbows offer excellent corrosion resistance, superior mechanical properties, and exceptional hygienic performance across a wide range of industrial applications.
Also known as SS 304 Elbow, AISI 304 Elbow, 304 Pipe Elbow, or Stainless Steel 90-Degree Elbow, our 304 elbows are engineered to withstand pressures up to 20 MPa and temperatures from -196°C to 800°C, making them the preferred choice for plumbing, food processing, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries worldwide.
What is 304 Stainless Steel?
304 stainless steel is the most widely used austenitic stainless steel grade globally. Composed of approximately 18% chromium and 8% nickel, it offers outstanding corrosion resistance, excellent formability, and superior weldability. As part of the 18/8 stainless steel family, 304 is non-magnetic in annealed condition and cannot be hardened by heat treatment.
The “L” variant — 304L stainless steel elbow — contains lower carbon content (≤ 0.03%) for enhanced resistance to intergranular corrosion after welding, making it ideal for welded pipeline systems in corrosive environments.
Key Features
- Excellent Corrosion Resistance: Superior resistance to oxidation, corrosion, and staining in most atmospheric and chemical environments

Why Choose 304 vs 316 Stainless Steel Elbows?
| Property | 304 SS Elbow | 316 SS Elbow |
|---|---|---|
| Corrosion Resistance | Good (general purpose) | Excellent (marine/chloride) |
| Molybdenum Content | None | 2-3% |
| Cost | Lower | ~20-30% higher |
| High-Temp Strength | Good up to 870°C | Slightly better |
| Best For | Food, dairy, water, architecture | Marine, chloride, medical |
Recommendation: Choose 304 stainless steel elbows for most general-purpose applications where cost efficiency and standard corrosion resistance are priorities. Opt for 316 stainless steel elbows only when facing chloride-rich or marine environments.
